About Our Northfield Veterinary Clinic

Cannon Valley Veterinary Clinic is an AAHA-accredited veterinary clinic caring for dogs and cats in Northfield, MN. We love our Northfield community, and by providing high-quality, compassionate, and individualized care to the pets who live here, we work to strengthen the bond between pets and the people who love them.

Established Care Rooted in the Community

Cannon Valley Veterinary Clinic has been accredited by the American Animal Hospital Association since 1993. Accreditation is voluntary, and maintaining it means our clinic is measured against standards covering patient care, anesthesia and pain management, surgery, dentistry, medical records, and client service. Many of our new clients still arrive the way they always have, though: through a friend, a neighbor, or a family member who told them where to go.

Our purpose is to provide dogs and cats with thoughtful treatment supported by meaningful clinical capabilities. As a full-service practice, we offer veterinary services for every life stage, from preventive visits and dental care to diagnostics and scheduled surgery. Digital X-rays, ultrasound, digital dental imaging, and ultrasonic scaling and polishing help our veterinarians evaluate concerns and plan appropriate care.

We also believe pet owners deserve understandable explanations and realistic recommendations. Our goal is to help each family consider its options and move forward with confidence, not to take a bare-bones approach or recommend care without explaining its purpose.

Experiences Shared by Local Pet Owners

The relationships built with local families are an important part of Cannon Valley Veterinary Clinic. These client experiences reflect the kindness, communication, and attentive support our staff strives to provide through routine visits, daycare, difficult diagnoses, and end-of-life care.

“We took our first dog, Buster, there after a long and disappointing experience with another vet trying to figure out what was wrong with our beloved Pit. Dr. Duncan was attentive and loving to our sweet boy and took amazing care of him right until the end. We transferred care of our two cats to him, as well as our new Great Dane. The entire staff has been absolutely amazing each time, and we will continue to trust them with all of our pets.”
